Groundwork Leeds

ReCreate

ReCreate is an education project working in the Rothwell, Ardsley and Robin Hood area. The project aims reduce litter, increase recycling and reduce vandalism, creating a sense of community pride. The main focus of the project will be encouraging and facilitating active participation by young people in improving their local environment. The project is funded by the Outer South Area Committee Well Being Fund.

In schools this is achieved by:-

• Delivering waste and recycling workshops
• Running Environmental After School Clubs
• Developing composting of organic waste on school sites
• Organising Action Days in conjunction with community groups
• Encouraging schools to have mini "bring" sites to facilitate recycling and reusing waste in the local community
